Omnisexual Wolfriding Elves Heading to Big Screen
The Hollywood Reporter did me no favors by reporting the news that Elfquest?the 30-year-old, not very good comic of elves, trolls and sexual indiscriminancy by Richard and Wendy Pini?might be made into a movie, thanks to its optioning by Warner Bros. My feelings on Elfquest have seemingly been mirrored by all the companies who picked up the fantasy comic over the years, including both Marvel and DC?initially greatly interested, followed quickly by boredom, mild distaste and then just hoping it would go away. There have been threats of an Elfquest cartoon for about two decades, so if we’re lucky, the cycle will begin anew and we can all just forget this ever happened.
