There Seems to Be Something Strange in the Neighborhood

Here’s the opening cinematic to the PS3 and Xbox 360 version of the Ghostbusters game; I very much appreciate the fact that it’s set in ’91, and yes, that does seem to be Alyssa Milano’s character running about. But what I really want to do is address the Wii version of the game, which I slammed a few days ago for looking cartoony, sparking a minor nerd apocalypse in the comments.

You guys are right — there is no clear proof that the Wii version will be inferior to the non-cartoony PS3 and 360 game. My apologies. What I meant — and utterly failed to articulate — is that lesser graphics are often indicative of a lesser game in other ways, and certainly, for those big games that hit all three consoles, the Wii has usually gotten the short end of the stick both in graphics and gameplay. Perhaps that’s not at all the case for the Ghostbusters Wii game; perhaps it is — the point is that I dismissed the game, I probably shouldn’t have, and I certainly should have been more clear about why. So sorry about that. However, I’m not sure how impressed anyone should be that Ackroyd says he prefers the Wii version. The man thought Blues Brothers 2000 was a good idea — do you really trust his game reviews?
