Oh @#$% Me, the He-Man Movie Is Back On

This won’t end well for me. The Hollywood Reporter reports that Predators writers Mike Finch and Alex Litvak have been hired to write a new Masters of the Universe movie script for Columbia and Mattel. Apparently, “In their pitch, the scribes attempted to balance a treatment that would
convince the studio it was cinematic and keep the toy company satisfied
that its characters were being portrayed appropriately.”

Look, Predators seems fine — certainly there are a lot worse films that a Predator sequel could rip off besides Predator — but it’s not like Mattel or Columbia will let an MOTU film be R-rated action fest. And while I’m clearly too much of a fanboy to see the franchise clearly, I still can’t imagine anyone doing a MOTU to my satisfaction (see the picture above? That’s what an MOTU movie looks like in my head. When I close my eyes and go to sleep. every night). Hell, Mattel still can’t even sell MOTU toys to MOTU fans correctly yet and they’re a goddamn toy company; I doubt they have their shit together regarding a movie. I’m well aware I’m being the worst kind of nerd here, but I can’t help it. MOTU is my thing. There’s no way a live-action MOTU movie ends well for me. But thanks to Snoodle for the tip anyways.
