?To be sure, when I first heard about DC’s The Music of DC Comics: 75th Anniversary Collection, I was really, really hoping they’d commissioned some lunatic or lunatics to create some kind of prog-rock opera about DC characters a la Marvel’s ’70s musical opus Spider-Man: Rock Reflections of a Superhero. Or at least created a DC version of this masterpiece (side note: why the hell doesn’t Marvel sell that as poster?). Alas, it was not to be — instead this CD is a collection of basically every DC cartoon, movie and TV show theme song since Superman picked up his first car, many of which have been unavailable for… ever, basically. The CD contains 31 tracks, which is way too long to post on the front page, so check ’em all out after the jump — and see if you can figure out the one glaring omission.

Note anything missing? I do — Puffy AmiYumi’s incredible opening song to the Teen Titans cartoon. I understand that Teen Titans occupied a slightly weirder space than these other DC properties, but no more than the Brave and the Bold cartoon. Plus, it’s actually a real song — and a great, if terrifyingly catchy song at that — and it deserves to be on the CD. I mean, if you’re going to have two Super Friends theme, there’s no reason why Teen Titans shouldn’t be on there. For shame. (Via DC’s Source)
