And So the Harry Potter Films End, Not With a Bang, But With an Awkward Hop in Front of a Greenscreen

After eight movies and a full decade, the Harry Potter film series is about to come to an end. It makes sense that the final shot would be an immensely emotional moment for the cast and crew, especially Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, who have lived these characters for practically half their lives. And it makes sense that the final day of filming would itself be recorded for posterity, right? Well, right, unless of course the final shot wasn’t for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 but Part 1, thus negating any sense of closure for the series. And unless it isn’t a real scene at all, but just a crappy stunt in front of a green screen where Harry, Ron and Hermione toss themselves into a pile of cushions. I understand the business of film-making is tough and almost never allows for films to be shot in order, but still, I’d think they could have the final day’s shooting be something a little less inane. For this fucking DVD extra, if nothing else. (Via /Film)
