Relax, consumers of crumby, creme-filled, carb-loaded, cake-like product: you don’t have to make like Woody Harrelson in Zombieland. The sale of Hostess assets to Apollo Global Management and Metropoulos & Co. was just approved, and they hope to start cranking out your favorite starchy sweetstuffs by the summer.
This may not be soon enough for county fair purveyors like those in the image above, however. You’ll have to get by on deep-fried everything else for a season. Can your arteries take the softness for one year?
