Ian McKellen Will Play Sherlock Holmes

Not content with playing two of the most iconic characters in nerddom across several films, Mr. Gandalf Magneto will be reuniting with Gods and Monsters director Bill Condon to play an older, retired Sherlock Holmes in A Slight Trick of the Mind. There is no Watson in the story, so we will all be spared silly speculation about that relationship.
The real question is whether we can persuade Bryan Singer to put McKellen and Benedict Cumberbatch in a Sherlock Holmes: Days of Future Past movie.
Actually, I lied. That’s not a real question at all. It’s the sort of thing only some smartass jerk on the Internet would say. So I did.
