UK ice-cream company Lick Me I’m Delicious, which specializes in a portable/rentable liquid nitrogen ice-cream maker for parties, has created something that glows brighter the more you lick it, and isn’t genitalia. No, in a development James Cameron might have discovered if he were as obsessed with desserts as he is with famous sunken ships, this glowing ice cream is made from the bio-luminescent proteins found in jellyfish.
Jellyfish that cost more than gold, apparently. So you’re looking at $200 per scoop. No word if it still glows on the way out, but company founder Charlie Francis has tried some, and isn’t radioactive yet. In the meantime, there’s a more affordable glow-under-blacklight flavor made with quinine that tastes like a gin and tonic.
No word on what the jellyfish one actually tastes like, but I vote for absinthe. Miles’ next goal is invisible ice cream, for which I’d suggest he look into hiring Oompa Loompas.
