Between earlier’s Nathan Fillion news and this latest bit of info, today’s overriding theme is shaping up to be “Actors Are Cast in Marvel Projects Yet We Don’t Have a Clue Who the Hell They’ll Be Playing.” That said, the word is officially out that Rosario Dawson has joined the cast of Netflix’s upcoming Daredevil series. From Entertainment Weekly:

Marvel’s Daredevil series has just filled another role: Sin City actress Rosario Dawson has been cast in a recurring part on the show.

Sources are quiet on the name of Dawson’s character on the comic-book-based Netflix series. But we’re told Dawson will play a “dedicated young woman whose quest to heal the wounds of Hell’s Kitchen brings Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) unexpectedly crashing into her life, while her own journey forever alters the course of his battle against the injustices of this broken city.”

Along with being a genre fave and a bona fide geek herself, Dawson is one of those actresses who elevates even the silliest of roles into something memorable (*cough* Seven Pounds *cough*). He addition to a cast that already includes a heavyweight like Vincent D’Onofrio is just further proof of how serious Netflix is taking their Marvel shows. But which one of Daredevil’s supporting female characters will she be? That, my dear readers, is what we all wish to know. Sigh.
