The United Arab Emirates Makes Theirs Marvel

If I had heard in 2007 that the United Arab Emirates was making a one-billion dollar Marvel theme park… well, I’d forgotten totally about it. It’s not like I’m going to the U.A.E. anytime soon. But the Disney and More blog unearthed several awesome concept art pieces, and if the end product — now due in 2012 — is anything like what they’re showing, this place will be insane. Above is what is probably called the “City of Super Heroes;” head over to the D&M blog to see art for a Vault ride — yes, as in the Supervillain prison, a Spider-Man ride of some kind where you’re dangling from one of Doc Ock’s tentacles, a massive Stark Laboratories location, a 3-D Marvel theater and more. I can’t even imagine how they’d pull some of this shit off, let alone all of it. Although I suspect $1 billion buys you some pretty awesome shit. (Via Gamma Squad)
