Lock-Out Is Escape from New York… in Space
There’s a second trailer for the Luc Besson-written and -produced Lock-Out, and now we know that Guy Pearce is a criminal hired to break into the maximum security prison in space known as M.S. One and rescue the president’s daughter, which means we know the movie is totally a rip-off of Escape from New York, but in space. I’m fine with this, actually. If you’re going to rip something off, at least add something to it. “In space” is a enough of a difference that there’s at least the possibility for some new, interesting plot points to happen. Plot points that will not be dramatically acted because you’ve hired Maggie Grace as the heroine, but still, E for effort. Just decide on the goddamn movie title, okay? (Via First Showing)
