Some Like It Hoth in the Sierra Nevadas

Young nerdlings now have the opportunity to pretend they are on The Empire Strikes Back‘s notorious ice planet thanks to the newly opened Yoda’s Riglet Park at the Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort. Located in South Lake Tahoe, California, the ski getaway partnered with Lucasfilm and Burton Snowboards to open a Star Wars-themed snowboarding park aimed to get kids between the ages of 3-6 into the sport. The above video gives you a full rundown of the area — including an amazingly cool Chewbacca statue and neat R2-D2 helmets and jackets that beg to be released in grown-up sizes. (What, no folks in Wampa costumes? C’mon). I’m not sure why this attraction is for children only, but I’m guessing it has something to do with the fact that most adults would rather ski into a tree than be surrounded by imagery from the prequels when they hit the slopes. Thanks to Al for the tip.
