? Birds of Prey the Complete Series
When Batman’s left town, who’s there to save Gotham City? Chicks! Get it? Birds of Prey? Chicks? Look, it’s 13 episodes and it’s not very good. Let’s both pretend this never happened.
? Eureka Season Two
It’s a slow enough DVD Day that Eureka is science-fiction-y enough to get in. Look, I’m leading with Birds of Prey, all right? That should tell you something.
? The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Complete Collection
Since all the anime fans I know either 1) bought the super-extras-laden limited edition of the individual DVDS or 2) don’t give a shit about Haruhi, I’m not sure who’ll be buying this.
? Swamp Thing the Series Vol. 2
I vaguely recalled watching Swamp Thing on USA when I was 12-ish, and being bitterly disappointed it wasn’t awesome. I stand by that.
? Eagle Shooting Heroes
Awesome name, awesome cast of Hong Kong’s finest actors circa 1993. This parody of the Hong Kong classic Ashes of Time has action by Sammo Hung.
? The Ninja Collection
Four ninja movies for $13, and surprisingly they weren’t made in Japan. It contains Bionic Ninja, Death Code: Ninja, Ninja: American Warrior, and Ninja in the Killing Fields. Two of the movie have people named Louis Smith and Justin Taylor in charge of ninja squads, which should tell you everything you need to know.
