This Would Actually Explain a Great Deal About Mike Tyson

The original Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out for the NES was awesome, and worthy of a sequel. As it apparently turns out, there was supposed to be one, called Mike Tyson’s Intergalactic Power Punch, which would have players control Tyson as he beats up boxing aliens. I’m serious. Watch the above video — apparently a collector had an unreleased rom of the game, and now you can see it in action. I’m having a hard time believing it myself, but even Kotaku says it’s authentic, so I guess here we are (here’s the original GameSetWatch article with the details).

Why was the game not released? Well, not because it’s obviously terrible and made by a completely different studio from the first game, since it got released sans Tyson. However, shortly after Punch-Out, Tyson either punched Robin Givens or raped a prostitute or ate someones ear, I forget which, and lost a bit of his luster. I don’t think we lost out on much, personally.
