Todd McFarlane recently told IESB he has plans to make another Spawn movie. I’m sure he does, although I’m not sure if reality shares his plans.
“Right now I literally have five offers on the table, everything from
the big studios… to more where I’m leaning, which is more of a smaller
budget – just keep it down, keep it dark, keep it grungy – I mean, I’ve
got two teenage daughters, and I’m trying to come up with an idea that
would get them and their dates to go to it. And it’s not a comic book
movie, it’s just a scary movie, a creepy movie. …Think The Departed, but with something moving in the shadows.
What’s more pitiful here? That McFarlane thinks he get a Spawn movie made 12 years after the original opened to crap reviews and mediocre box office? That he believes anyone wants a Spawn movie besides himsef? Or that he’s (or anyone, for that matter) could create a Spawn movie at the level of Martin Scorsese’s The Departed? Eeesh. (Via FilmDrunk)
