Yep, Dollhouse Is Doomed

Take a deep breath, and say it with me: DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMEEEEEDDDD. EW‘s entertainment gossip-monger Michael Ausiello reports that Fox is pulling Dollhouse from November sweeps, and instead will show reruns of House and Bones. Let me repeat that: Fox would rather air reruns of another series than new episodes of Dollhouse.

That’s… that’s not good.

So we might as well say goodbye to Dollhouse after season 2. Fox has already promised it will air all of Dollhouse‘s second season episodes, which is shockingly generous for Fox; Ausiello says that two new eps will run back to back in December to pretty much get it over with as quickly as possible. And creator Joss Whedon has already planned for the season two finale to work as a series finale “just in case.” Now, I’m not going to lose sleep over this, but I did like Dollhouse a lot, and I think it had a lot more potential in its admittedly overcomplicated and bizarre premise. I’ll miss it, but I have to admit Fox certainly gave it a chance (for a change).
