Reminder: Turtles Forever Premieres Tomorrow… and There’s More Than Eight of ‘Em
Comic Book Resources alerted to me to this commercial for the Teenage Muant Ninja Turtles 25th anniversary crossover/event/cartoon movie Turtles Forever, which in turn alerted me to the fact that it’s airing tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. EST on whatever channel 4Kids.tv is slumming it on (The CW, right? Probably the CW), which in turn alerted me to the fact that Eastman and Laird’s black-and-white original comics turtles are joining the ’80s cartoon Turtles and the ’00s cartoon Turtles and HOLY SHIT THAT’S AWESOME. That’s 12 mutant ninja turtles, and officially one hell of an anniversary present for fans. I wonder how the comic TMNT will be portrayed. Grim? Uttler humorless? Badasses? Something goofy? Goodness only knows, but I know I’ll be watching Saturday morning cartoons tomorrow for the first time in a long time.
