Spidey Always Struck Me As More of a Colecovision Guy
Spidey Always Struck Me As More of a Colecovision Guy
From 1982 comes this bit of insanity promoting Parker Brothers’ legendarily lame Spider-Man game for the Atari 2600 in which Spidey attempted to save New York City from the Green Goblin and his so-called Super Bombs. What made said bombs so super? If Gobby’s frantic appearance in this ad is anything to go by, crystal meth. Lots and lots of crystal meth. I used to think that the Burgertime ad with the Nazi hot dog was the most terrifying videogame ad ever. No longer. Jump to 0:19 and check out the horror when the Green Goblin taunts Spidey about “running out of fluid.” Chilling. ? C.C.
