Movie News Trifecta: At the Mountains of Madness, Pirates of the Caribbean 4, Unbreakable 2

?? Tom Cruise is being considered for the lead of the Guillermo del Toro-directed, James Cameron-produced adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft ‘s At the Mountains of Madness. I didn’t know Cthulhu himself was actually going to be involved in the film’s casting, but it makes sense. Seeing Cruise star in what will likely be the only big-budget Lovecraft movie of our lifetimes will certainly reduce me to gibbering insanity. (Via First Showing)

? If you’re still excited at the prospect of M. Night Shyamalan making an Unbreakable sequel, then… then you probably haven’t seen his last four movies. The good news is that Shyamalan says it’s happening, but the bad news is that it’s going to be one of his “Night Chronicles” films, like the Satan-in-an-elevator flick Devil, meaning he won’t write or direct it. While that part is probably for the best, I’d say the chances of Bruce Willis returning are about the same as me not drinking tonight. SLIM TO NONE. (Via Blastr)
