Surprising Pimpery: Cracked’s “You Might Be a Zombie” Book

Some people have supposed that I hate Cracked.com. Nothing could be further from the truth! Sure, we both do lists each day, but so does half the internet. Besides, they’re a comedy site and TR is a nerd site — sure, their lists might get a little nerdy sometimes, but TR‘s lists get a little hilarious sometimes (well, once in a while. Oh, for the record, I don’t hate io9 either; yes, they’re a nerd site like TR, but they’re less fun and have infinitely better resources and actual copy editors. We’re different enough that there’s room for both of us).

This is simply a long way of saying that I wish Cracked well, because if they were to do something like release a book of the their best and funniest lists and it was successful, maybe I could release a book of TR lists and make enough money that I can turn on my heat this winter, even if it’s just for a few hours a day. Hey, look:

You Might Be a Zombie and Other Bad News is not a zombie book, but a book of Cracked.com‘s funniest lists, including 20 that haven’t been published on the site. I’d tell you that Stan Lee likes it, but Stan Lee likes anything for a dollar, so I’ll merely tell you that Sarah Silverman and Roger Ebert approve of the book, which should carry more weight. You can check out many of the lists over at Cracked, and order the book itself for a scandalously low $8 on Amazon this very minute. Please, at least think about it. It’s cold. So, so cold…
