?Henry Cavill has been cast as Superman in the new Zack Snyder-directed, Chris Nolan-overseen Superman movie. I know jack shit about Cavill, except he’s British and stars in The Tudors. I’m sure he’ll be fine, but I’m kind of bummed that Brandon Routh won’t be playing Superman; he was great, and it’s not his fault the script for Superman Returns sucked.

Meanwhile, at what point did it become unfashionable to cast Americans as American superheroes? Christian Bale is Batman, Andrew Garfield is Spider-Man, and now Cavill is Superman. Australians Hugh Jackman and Chris Hemworth are Wolverine and Thor, respectively. That leaves us with what, Iron Man and Captain America? I suppose we should be grateful that Captain America went to Chris Evans and not Jude Law or something. (Via Deadline)
