The Voltron Force Faces Its Greatest Enemy: Nerds
You guys know I love the Voltron Force cartoon. It’s done a great job of turning the classic series’ goofiness into compelling story elements, added three kids to the show — which should be the kiss of death for any cartoon — and made them interesting characters with their own dynamics, and then basically loaded the cartoon with unbelievably awesome ideas like Voltron with different centers, weapons, secrets, and more. So I’m happy to remind you guys that the show returns tonight on NickToons at 8:30pm EST. And I’m also happy to show you this:
This is a clip from next week’s episode, and let me tell you why it’s awesome. It’s not really because there’s a Voltron nerd who talks like the Robot Chicken nerd. It’s not because this kid’s collection including a shit-ton of stuff from the classic Voltron anime, although that’s pretty awesome. It’s not because this kid is such a Voltron fan that he hates the new Voltron, but because his dialogue — and I know this for a fact — comes verbatim from comments on the Voltron Force series forums. They took the actual bitching people did about Voltron Force, and then put it in Voltron Force. OH. AND SOMEHOW HE HAS THE ORIGINAL VOLTRON, TOO. I’ve never used the word “amazeballs” on Topless Robot before, but it is time. This show is amazeballs.
