Gotham is Not Yet Ashes in the New Dark Knight Rises Trailer

…But it’s well on its way. This new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises slipped out in shakier form a little while ago, but now we can get a nice, clean, officially sanctioned look at the next Batman film, with Catwoman and the Mortal-Kombat-esque Bane and everything.

There’s a lot to see in the trailer’s flashes of grim urban unrest (which some people are ALREADY comparing to the Occupy movement), plus Anne Hathaway being a pretty convincing Catwoman. But you know what surprised me the most? The football game. It’s a shock to see football, or any other sport that involves actual color, played in as gloomy a place as Gotham City. I guess I expected the people there to enjoy only gray little badminton games or staring contests as their sport of choice.
