In theory, the Greek-myths-meet-modern-world gags seem fun, like the three blind witches as New York cab drivers, and the entire premise of doing Jason and the Argonauts in the Bermuda Triangle. I haven’t read the book, and I missed the first film – it was going to be my first date movie with Mrs. Robot and she had a car mishap that night – but for a sequel sub-hedded “Sea of Monsters,” it sure takes this trailer a long time to get off dry land. And while I’m sure a lot of people are happy to see Chris Columbus gone as director, I think the director of Hotel for Dogs and Diary of a Wimpy Kid is probably a step downward.

So picking the one guy who guarantees a certain segment of nerd rentals = probably a good call.
