SDCC 2013: New Mattel WWE Elite Figures

The biggest surprise here was the high amount of non-current stars, with an entire series of ’90s figures that includes the original Degeneration X, JBL, Undertaker in purple spats (plus removable gray mask) and WrestleMania VIII Randy Savage. Trish Stratus will also be coming as a flashback figure, alongside the likes of more current stars like Wade Barrett, Antonio Cesaro, The Miz, and a Dia de los Muertos deco’ed Rey Mysterio.

In the Toys R Us build-a-figure series, Paul Heyman will be the Elite BAF in a series that includes Daniel Bryan with tag team belts, Brock Lesnar in a goofy beanie (he’ll also be getting an Attitude Era exclusive at Ringside Collectibles), CM Punk with angry face and Undertaker’s urn and John Cena with the new world title. The Basics BAF will be Booker T in GM outfit, shown below with a new Daniel Bryan from series 2 of the Wal-Mart exclusive T-shirt deco line.

There’s also a new backstage playset, but quite honestly it looks terrible. Imagine Jakks old Dock of Doom or whatever it was called, but looking even more like a pop-out thing that looks as if it can be folded flat. Camera charge ran out before I could snap it, but you’re missing nothing.

Also further down the line: Bruno Sammartino, Rikishi, Road Dogg, Zeb Colter, Big E. Langston, Bray Wyatt and debut Mankind. Those can be seen at wrestlingfigs.com.
