Seriously, in all my years writing nerdy stuff, I cannot count the number of times I’ve used this as some form of a punchline. You know: “Better this than an Egghead figure!” “Egghead figure or we riot!” “This stupid rights dispute means we’ll never have a toy of Egghead!” “Never mind Adam West – I just want an Egghead!”
I can’t use that joke any more. It’s actually happening. Mego-style, which isn’t my preferred form, but the fact that somebody got the rights should mean Mattel can too.
I guess I’ll have to put it to a vote – who should my new punchline be? Liberace as Harry and Chandell or Milton Berle as Louie the Lilac?
