New Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Trailer Finally Looks Epic

Not that I was ever doubting this movie before – its predecessor was solid enough to earn any followup a great deal of goodwill – but at last we actually get a good sense of the scope of the thing, and a decent amount of Caesar talking, and it is looking strong. This planet of the apes is a whole lot rainier than the old one, but it is the west coast Bay Area, after all, whereas Chuck Heston presumably landed around New York City in the summertime.

Of course, if the goal really is to tie this in to the old movies somehow, eventually – they’ll have to figure out a way that the last remnants of humanity are still determined enough to start a nuclear war and become psychic subterranean nutjobs. But one thing at a time.

Relevant – now that you’ve seen what I had seen by WonderCon, it might be time to revisit our Dawn of the Planet of the Apes interviews.
