Iron Maiden’s New Music Video Is a Fun Tribute to Arcade Games Over the Years

If music videos still worked the way they did when I was young, this one alone would have Iron Maiden back in the popular consciousness and topping the charts. While the song is an okay old-school metal number, the video – which sees the band’s zombie mascot Eddie getting Tron-style digitized into a game grid and starring in versions of Donkey Kong, Mortal Kombat and more – is a better retro-gaming tribute than Pixels.

If you’re not familiar at all with Iron Maiden, you may at least know Eddie as a frequently made action figure by McFarlane and NECA. And now I want to see him actually enter Pixels and rip out Adam Sandler’s heart. Maybe for their next video.
