Fear Leads to Anger, Anger Leads to Hate, Hate Leads to CG Yoda Getting Inserted into Episode 1
Well, those rumors that the crappy Yoda puppet of The Phantom Menace would be replaced with a CG Yoda didn’t stay rumors for very long — here’s a clip from the upcoming Star Wars Blu-rays, starring CG Yoda in place of Crappy Puppet Yoda. Like I said yesterday, while I generally prefer puppets over CG, the Episode 1 Yoda puppet was terrible, and having Yoda consistently CG in the prequels seems like the lesser of two evils.
But my bigger concern is this: If Lucasfilm told Bleeding Cool there was “absolutely no new material created for the Blu-rays”… where the fuck does CG Yoda fit into that? This footage instantly and totally contradicts that statement, doesn’t it? Maybe — maybe — Lucasfilm is claiming they aren’t adding new footage to the movies, but obviously they have no problem changing and adding shit to the footage that already exists, in which case all our previous concerns are still totally valid. So… yeah. I’m going to continue to stay worried. (Via New York)
